62 ¶ And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country. This is where Isaac grew up. 63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. Isaac is waiting for Abraham's main servant to bring him back a wife. We are not given the servant's name. It gives you some insight into Isaac's character, that he was meditating in the fields in the evening. 64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. She got off that camel pretty quick. 65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walks in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. That was the custom in those times and still is today for an unmarried woman to cover her face with a vail, especially if she was meeting her husband-to-be. 66 And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. 67 And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death. Sarah is deceased at this time. There is no comfort like a woman's comfort for a man. Genesis 25:1-34 This is the last chapter that deals with Abraham and his wife. 1 ¶ Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. Sarah is dead, and Abraham is 100 years old, but he takes another wife. Her name “Keturah” means “incense”, the kind that smells good.
