SERMON INFO
The Jerusalem Council was a time for defending truth. It was a time for disputing false teaching. It was a time for God to preserve His truth. In Galatians, Paul has been answering the criticism of some who were saying that he was preaching a gospel that was not the same as the other apostles. In his defense, he began to tell the Galatians of his gospel—he had received it from Christ Himself. If you remember from our text, Paul had mentioned that these critics wanted to add external conformity to Old Testament Law to the gospel. They were telling people that they had to act and live like devout Jews if they wanted to be saved. Paul had spoken first with the other apostles in private because of the pseudo-Christian moles. These moles wanted to bring the church back under the bondage of the Law. Paul and the apostles didn't give the moles the time of day; the truth of the gospel was at stake.

The truth of the gospel is still under act today. We are in this fight for truth just as much as Paul was. We must realize that Satan wants to destroy Christ’s church. He wants to destroy this church. And the quickest way he could accomplish that is to dilute or pollute the gospel message. The gospel message has remained unchanged for 2,000 years.

The truth of the gospel
will endure through the ages. Will we remain true to its message of grace?
