Most of the time when we look at this passage we over look the host. He was the innkeeper and he was left to care for this stranger. His responsibility was to take and do what he could to help fix this man. No where was he charged to find fault or to hurt the man further. Please note, he was also told to go as far as was necessary to help the man and not to worry about the personal cost. Are we helping those who have been wounded?
