WISDOM'S FINAL APPEAL: WISDOM AND FOOL PLAY FOR KEEPS 13 A foolish woman is clamorous; She is simple, and knows nothing. 14 For she sits at the door of her house, On a seat by the highest places of the city, 15 To call to those who pass by, Who go straight on their way: 16 "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here"; And as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, 17 "Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant." 18 But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of hell." Proverbs 9:13-18
This Lord's Day Pastor Randy will continue our study of the Book of Proverbs. If you listen, learn, and remember Wisdom's words and do them, you will be safe from many troubles. The unstated contrast is that if you don't trouble and trials will befall, and ultimately destruction. Proverbs 9 is the conclusion of Wisdoms argument why we should listen to Her and walk in Her ways! Verses 13-18 conclude Wisdom's Contrast to Folly. These last verses show that Folly is devoid of character. She "is simple and knows nothing." Who should you trust? Who should you follow? Who will lead you in the direction you should go?
