WISDOM'S FINAL APPEAL: SHE HAS DONE IT ALL! 1 ¶ Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars; 2 She has slaughtered her meat, She has mixed her wine, She has also furnished her table. 3 She has sent out her maidens, She cries out from the highest places of the city, 4 "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, 5 "Come, eat of my bread And drink of the wine I have mixed. 6 Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding." Proverbs 9:1-6
This Lord's Day Pastor Randy will continue our study of the Book of Proverbs. If you listen, learn, and remember Wisdom's words and do them, you will be safe from many troubles. The unstated contrast is that if you don't trouble and trials will befall, and ultimately destruction.
Proverbs 9 is a chapter of practical Wisdom. The first 6 verses refer to a great banquet, a great feast that is prepared. All are invited, many will not come! BUT ALL WHO HEAR SHOULD!! |
