These verses of this Psalm that I just read to you tell us, without any doubt, that the Lord is completely sovereign over the weather. “Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in heaven and in the earth.” Nothing happens in the heavens or in the earth; in the seas, or in all the deep places unless the Lord ordains that it is so. He is the One who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He is the One who makes lightning for the rain; He is the One who brings the wind out of His treasuries. God is the author of the weather. But the issue that I would like to focus on this morning is how God is thought of and viewed, by people, following a disaster such as this.
