As Paul continues his letter to the Philippians, he describes his situation in Rome, and tells of those who preach Christ from poor motives. Still, he rejoices that the gospel is being proclaimed. Do we share that same spirit? Do we rejoice at the sound of the gospel?
He goes on to give this great statement of testimony - 'for me, to live is Christ and to die is gain'. What do we make of such a statement?
We might understand the 'gain' of death if we are Christians, but have we really got hold of the challenge of the words 'to live is Christ?'
With Christ, you have everything to live for, AND you will live forever.
