SERMON INFO
I’ve heard plenty of teaching on reputation. If you spend any time in church, you’ll probably hear a message on having a good Christian reputation. You’ll hear why you need to have a good reputation. You’ll hear the benefits of having a good reputation. You’ll hear how to have a good reputation, but most of the time those messages promote an external conformity to the perceived Christian lifestyle. I want to know how I can have a good reputation!

What are you known for? Are you known for your intellect, your ravishing good looks, your work ethic, or your habits? Are you known as a hypocritical Christian—going to church on Sunday but no different than anybody else during the week? What do you want to be known for? Most Christians want to be known for following Christ. So why aren’t we?

Why does it seem that every time we attempt to live for Christ as an example to the world, we end up slipping back and becoming more like those we are trying to reach? It’s because we are going at it the wrong way. We can’t change the way we live by simply deciding to change. If I want to have a good Christian reputation, I must allow Christ to develop one in me. I must spend a significant amount of quality time with Christ. Being with Jesus will
change the way you live.
