God is My Salvation - Message 81 - Fasting that Pleases God - Isaiah 58:1-14. In Isaiah 58 we hear a stinging rebuke from the Lord for the rebellious attitude and sinful actions of His people in Judah. Specifically confronted in their self-serving, self-righteous worship, wherein they believe that using the right ritual will earn them favor from God, hence a system of worship developed to serve self instead of God. In His correction, God shows them 8 blessings that flow from proper fasting and worship as His people are commended to serve God by serving others sacrificially, ministering to the least of these in their midst.
