Is your faith being tested today? Noah preached 120 years in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, where every imagination of the thoughts of men's hearts was only evil continually. This must have been a severe trial for him, but greater still was the trial in the ark.
Noah was not in the ark just 40 days and 40 nights while it rained, but 300 days! God had shut him in, and he had no choice but to wait on his God, who had preserved him and his family from His wrath.
Many saints in the scriptures had to wait for God's deliverance. Joseph had a dream, and yet he went through so much, and stayed faithful to God, before he ruled over his brethren, as promised by God. King David was pursued almost to death by Saul before he became king.
The scriptures say that God remembered Noah. To "remember" is to take care of, provide for. God is greatly concerned when His children are afflicted. In all their afflictions He was afflicted, too. The Lord would perfect that which concerned Noah, as He will with us. We must learn to wait on the Lord.
As the children of Israel were "trapped" at the Red Sea when Pharaoh's army pursued them, we need to "stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD." We don't need to rush, to panic, to try to make something happen, to try to fix it. We need to stand still and learn the lessons our God has for us in this trial.
This is a very encouraging message, and I pray God uses it to encourage His dear saints, as He did for me in hearing it this morning. |
