Isaiah sees the earth desolate, but not by accident, rather through God's judgement. He tells us plainly that the great pollution is sin, and God shall punish it. He shows us a rejoicing that is of the world and cannot last, and a rejoicing that is of God, and must last for ever. Finally he shows us God reigning in judgement, and in grace.
