This is the 19th sermon in a series of sermons through 1 & 2 Timothy. The following was recorded at Island Baptist Church in Beach Haven, NJ. Visit us on the web at www.hopeoflbi.com.
David Lingstone said, "If a commission by an earthly king is considered an honor, how can a commission by a Heavenly King be considered a sacrifice?" The call to lead God's flock as a Pastor/Elder, is the highest calling there is; higher than the call to lead countries or corporations. Yet, this is the call to an office of heavenly humility, of a servitude known for its cross-carrying. How should we respond to those faithful Christian leaders who lead honorably, and conversely, how should we respond to those who lead carelessly? In our days of despicable civic leadership, we need to return to a Biblical understanding of the Lord's, "Solemn Call" to Christian leadership. Follow along as we unpack this timely message from 1 Timothy.
