The leper’s plea was a bold statement of faith from a man deeply aware of his need for cleansing. He pleaded, “If you will, you can make me clean.” The compassion of Jesus is shown for sinners in that he reaches out and touches the unclean man and makes him clean. We need to see our sin and receive the cleansing touch of Jesus.
