The miracle of the crucifixion of Christ is often overlooked in the celebration of His glorious resurrection. Yet the death of Christ was undeniably supernatural. Jesus demonstrated that He was omnipotent God even as He hanged on the cross. He died on His own terms. His death was attended by several amazing miracles all at one time. Yet the greatest miracle of His death was the unseen miracle of Christ's securing for us forgiveness and eternal life because He fully paid the price for our sin. The second great miracle of Easter, of course, is the bodily resurrection of Jesus on the third day. In a sense, the miracle of Christ's resurrection serves to validate the miracle of His death. How would we know that we are forgiven – that God is not angry with us any more – were it not for the undeniable fact that He raised His Son from the dead?
