In God's Providence, we remember on this day two godly women and mothers chosen by the Lord to play a most important part in God's work of salvation – Sarah and Mary. Scripture shows an important connection between these two women. Their greatness as Scripture shows came not because of who they were in themselves. Rather their greatness is shown in God's working through them. Sarah's faith, as Scripture shows, was not a perfect faith. But you see it is not Sarah's faith directly that should be remembered as it is the object of her faith. We are not saved by our faith. We dare not place our faith in faith. Rather we are saved because God can do what is impossible. We are saved because there is nothing too hard for the LORD. Don't look then to your faith, but look to the one whom your faith is in. This morning we will look at the continued story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 17:15-18:15 in 4 parts: 1. God Finally Reveals the Important Role of Sarah, 17:15-22 2.
