We see from this passage that our Lord first revealed Himself, as raised from the dead, to a few women who were His disciples. This was a great mercy and a great privilege which was given to those women who were such faithful followers of our Lord. We might not naturally think that they were the ones whom Christ should have first made His appearance to. Shouldn't He have first appeared to the Apostles? Our Lord did not think so, and so we should be instructed by this truth this morning. I believe that the reason that the Lord Jesus revealed Himself first to these women, was because they were the first ones to come and see. Come with me this morning and behold the Morning Glories of Christ's Resurrection from the dead. 1st of all, I would have you to behold the glory of the acts of this angel when Christ was raised from the dead. 2nd – I would have you behold the glory of the angel's words to these women. And 3rdly – I would have you to behold the glory of their suddenly meeting the Lord Jesus. Let these truths sink into your minds and hearts this day so that you too can know that Jesus Christ is raised from the dead.
