There's no such thing as selective allegiance. Either you pledge your allegiance, or you don't. That's precisely what Jesus meant when He said, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other…" (Mt.6:24). When Jesus started drawing a line in the sand, saying hard things and demanding total allegiance to Himself, the Bible says, "From this time many of His disciples turned back and no longer followed Him" (Jn.6:66). This trend continued after His resurrection when His disciples set out to spread His Message across the globe. Many outsiders admired these, "Jesus-Followers," but most wouldn't dare associate with them. Join us this Sunday as we examine one of the most critical distinctions made in the New Testament – the distinction between "Fans & Followers."
