People are very good at getting used to the most amazing stuff. Take flying as an example. The concept of tons of steel floating in the air and transporting people from continent to continent, is amazing. Yet some people have a bad attitude toward flying. It is such a drag. It was, at one time, beyond exciting, but now, people are so used to an amazing thing that the wonder is lost.
The remarkable thing is that God's salvation is such a glorious accomplishment and gift, but Christians can shrink it to an ordinary, everyday thing like drinking a glass of water.
Something that is amazing about God's salvation is that it depends upon something in God, not something in me. Specifically, God saves because he is merciful. Mercy is your fundamental need.
Moreover, God's mercy is driven by His overwhelming love. God's salvation is evidence of His outstanding love. Yet how many believers not only lose their appreciation for God's love, but actually doubt it!
Pray that God will make us people who are amazed by the amazing!
