In this passage, John gives one of the purposes for writing this letter - all that we have looked at before - articulated as think, feel, do - describing the Christian life was for the purpose that we know that we have eternal life. Today we are going to talk about assurance. In addition, we will look at the confidence that we have in prayer. If ask anything according to His will, He hears us. This gives us confidence because we know that if we pray foolish or sinful prayers, God will overrule the prayer.

Great sermons for March John,
They were 3 great sermons for March.
I thought the water and the blood was the first miracle of Jesus - changing water into wine, But I can see now that His Baptism was much more significant in terms of moving toward salvation. It had God's stamp of approval, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. It also gives me a better understanding of Baptism as sacrament.
I felt your pain when you recounted trying to learn Greek. I loved the psalm you prayed - "I'm drowning, the water is up to my neck"....
I have a better understanding of God's Holy "Secret" Will. I hope I don't get so relaxed that I take whatever He gives me in good things - for granted.
God bless you and the family,
