After God formed the body of the first man (Adam) from the dust of the ground, the Book of Genesis says, "God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Gen.2:7). But when Adam sinned, that spirit in him died, and through Adam's seed, all have sinned, and all are born spiritually dead. When Jesus prepared to send His first followers out into the world to preach the Good News that He'd reversed the curse of Adam, "He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit" (Jn.20:22). Jesus regenerates the dead spirit in each of His followers, empowering us to fulfill His redemptive purpose, through the impartation of the Spirit of God. As we continue in our series through 2 Timothy, Paul's last written letter before his public execution, we come to one of the most significant aspects of the Christian life – the inspiration of God's Word, for the empowerment of God's people. Join us as we examine what it means to live a "God-Breathed Life."
