The story is told of a pastor who in the process of a hospital call was asked to quote Psalm 23. Like many pastors, he had memorized David’s Psalm as a boy and began rattling it off. The patient put his hand up and stopped him. “Do it slowly.” he instructed. The pastor complied. Later, a fellow pastor came upon the pastor sitting in his car with his Bible opened on his lap. When the second pastor asked, “Is anything wrong?” The first pastor asked, “Have you ever really looked at the 23rd Psalm?” Hopefully this is what we will do today. I pray that it will be an epiphany moment like it was to this pastor. I. The LORD Is My Shepherd (verses 1-4) II. The LORD Is My Host. (verses 5-6)
