He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Revelation 3:6)
God has chosen to reveal whom he has chosen and for whom he died, by giving them a hearing ear. Then using that opened ear to further bless them in every aspect of the Christian life.
Christ himself was as a servant, whose ears were opened to obey his Father even unto death. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (Isaiah 42:1) "mine ears hast thou opened:" (Psalms 40:6) "For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak." (John 12:49)
The message that God speaks to his people by His Spirit and Word through the churches is reinforced after each of the seven letters.
1/ Blessings made possible - Calvary 2/ The means of blessing - an opened ear 3/ The blessings through an open ear
