After the great victory of Carmel and the humiliating defeat of fleeing before the threats of Jezebel, God revealed Himself to Elijah in the way of a “still, small voice” or as a sound of gentle blowing, not a wind that rent the rocks, or fiery mountains or great earthquakes. We often want the immediate and the spectacular, while God is faithfully doing His perfect work quietly, and in His own perfect time. His leading us is not in the way of yelling or shouting but of the gentle leading of His Holy Spirit Who indwells those who are born again. This is a study of the things that will help us to know when and how God is leading us to do His will. In this study we look at the wonderful work of godliness in our lives. God’s Word tells us that all who desire to live godly will be persecuted. The world’s reaction to the perfect Son of God, declares without question the world’s hatred for all that is righteous, holy and good. As we live godly lives we are not to be surprised by hostility, opposition, and persecution. How do we know God loves us when all the events in our lives seem to say just the opposite? While the church falls for such things as contemplative prayer and other extra Biblical revelations, the believer holds to the Word of truth of the One Who cannot lie and walks by faith and not by sight. This is a study of the why of suffering in the life of the man born blind from birth. In this account from God’s Word we are told why this man was born blind!
