Turn your attention to an important message from God's word, usually ignored in most preaching. You should be concerned to make sure you truly believe. But you should also be zealous to know about the spiritual blessings you have when you are in Christ. So turn to the book of Ephesians.
This is a book of riches, glory, inheritance and grace, all of which flows from the power of God operating in our lives. The key phrase in this book is in Christ. It occurs 27 times in just 6 chapters. This book also contains much of the New Testament revelation of the mystery of the Church, the body of Christ.
Ephesians comes in two halves. The first 3 chapters major on your position in Christ and the final 3 major on your practice. The first half tells you who you are in Christ and the second half tells you how to live up to who you are. Today we zero in on one verse that is the capsulized summary of the whole book.
Ephesians 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, . . .
Can you pick out a theme? Blessed, blessed and blessing are you clues. From this one verse:
1 - Summary of Blessings Received 2 - Stimulation to Blessings Experienced
