The question is an old dilemma, faced by Christians and Muslims and even philosophers: Must God only will (and do) what is good? Or is whatever God wills (and does) good by definition? In other words, is God a law to himself, as if might make right? Oddly, there is truth on both sides, and the surprising answer to this dilemma lies in the Christian reality of the Trinity.
