Because the Lord was not going to remain upon the earth for very long after His resurrection, ā€ˇHis physical revelation of Himself as risen from the dead would only be given to His disciples ā€ˇand not to the whole world. The disciples themselves would have a need to come to know ā€ˇwhat kind of a relationship that they would have with Him after He ascended. The new ā€ˇrelationship that these disciples would experience with their risen and ascending Lord, would ā€ˇbe based upon their coming to realize more and more, what the triumph of Christā€™s life and ā€ˇdeath and resurrection would mean to them. It would mean the confirmation of many ā€ˇspiritual blessings in their personal experience of their relationship with Him; both ā€ˇindividually and as the church gathered. Christā€™s resurrection was the beginning of great ā€ˇspiritual blessings which would come to them from His exalted position of being at the right ā€ˇhand of the Father. What could they expect in terms of their relationship to Jesus now? I ā€ˇthink that our passage gives us 3 indications of what they could expect.ā€ˇ
