Aim: To live by faith in Christ, thus showing ourselves to be the people of God.
Exegesis: The people of God are an unassuming lot. The Lord reverses our alienation from Him (v. 25) and our sentencing before Him (v. 26). The people of God are a special lot. Many in the covenant get saved (vv. 27-28); all in the covenant get blessed (v. 29). The people of God are a believing lot. Faith separates the true from the false (v. 30); law-righteousness separates the sinner from the Savior (vv. 31-33).
Key verse: v. 26 ''And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' there they shall be called sons of the living God.''
