Aim: To be strongly confirmed in our faith in the resurrection of Christ.
Exegesis: Do we believe in the resurrection? If so, then our faith will certainly be tested (vv. 1-2), and our faith is certainly well-established (vv. 3-5). Do we really believe in the resurrection, even when it costs us everything (v. 6) and requires of us great patience (vv. 7-8)? Do we really, truly believe in the resurrection? If so, then Jesus is our substitute (v. 13) and our satisfaction (v. 14).
Key verse: v. 5 ''And Abraham said to his young men, 'Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.'''
