History will surely look back and label us, "thin-skinned." The degree of our offendedness is off the charts, not only in the general population, but among professing believers in Jesus Christ. The general susceptibility to emotional ruin, and the inability to ignore the verbal attacks or criticisms of others, has resulted in a generation of men and women with hearts too fragile to stand firm on God's truth. The first followers of Jesus faced daily insults, persistent ridicule, and compounding physical threats that would've terrified even the bravest among us. Yet, they remained resolute. Their only response in the face of persecution was to ask God to grant them the gift of Godly Grit, "to continue to speak God's Word with all boldness" (Acts.4:29). God still grants "the gift of grit" to those who are willing to stand firm on His Word. Join us this Sunday, 10/24, as we examine the true historical account of the bold courage of Peter and John, and "THE GIFT OF GRIT" granted to them by their God.
