Here we look at the wonderful and challenging patience of God, also referred to as His longsuffering. This is an attribute we love when it is directed towards us but we do not love it when it is directed towards those who are our enemies. Those we think need to be judged immediately. This is also the reason why our prayers may not be answered in a timely manner, according to our own thinking. God will judge evil, but He often restrains these judgments by using His own power to hold those judgments back while being patient with those who hate Him.
As His born again children, we are to be imitators of our wonderful heavenly Father and to walk or live according to His ways through His Son and by the power of the Holy Spirit Whom He has sent to live in us. Therefore we also are to live a life of patience with those who are doing us evil and wrong. Our Father has promised that vengeance is His and it is coming upon this Christ hating earth. We are to be patient until He keeps His promise.
