When God created the heavens and the earth… He declared them to be good. When God made trees that grow and flowers that bloom, he declared them good. When God made fish that swim and animals that walk and birds that fly, he declared them all good. God's work in creation is a good work, and it is a work that only God can do. In Scripture, God poetically points to His good work in creation to illustrate the good work He does in and among His people:
"I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall grow like the lily, and lengthen his roots like Lebanon. His branches shall spread; his beauty shall be like an olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon," Hosea 14:5-6 (NKJV).
To be reconciled, restored and rightly related to God is to be someone in whom God is doing a good work -- a work only God can do. As dew satisfies the desert ground, sustains what would otherwise perish and supplies all that is needed to prosper… so God satisfies and sustains and supplies His people. This Sunday, we'll return to our study of Hosea and enjoy God's great promises to His repentant, dependent people. We hope to see you here as we consider, "God's Loyal Love: "Your Fruit is Found in Me."
