God's plan for the future of Daniel's people, the nation of Israel was revealed to him in response to his prayer. God revealed that six things would be accomplished during a 490 year future period of time. This time period was broken down into seventy seven year segments that began with the decree to rebuild the temple destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. Sixty nine of those seven year periods passed until the first coming of the Messiah who was then cut off at His crucifixion, after the sixty-ninth week. The seventieth and final seven year period is yet future. It was revealed that it will begin when the little horn, also known as the anti-Christ, signs a covenant with the nation of Israel. This seventieth week will also be the time of the national conversion of Daniel's people and then they will experience the ultimate provisions of the New Covenant blessings promised by God in His covenant with Abraham.
