Paul's prayer for the church at Colossae reveals the heart of the apostle as well as what a God-honoring Christian life should look like. Paul evidently had not met these believers in person but he has a deep concern for their spiritual well being. He prays they would live lives worthy of the Lord by being filled with the knowledge his will. The apostle requests God to enable these folk to walk in a lifestyle that pleases God, marked by fruitful good works, growing knowledge of the Lord, and the virtues of endurance and patience that are the result of the glorious power of God at work in their lives. Finally, he rehearses some fundamental gospel reasons why they should joyfully thank the Father for his delivering mercy. Much can be learned from this prayer of Paul's.
