Israel and Iran, Jerusalem and Babylon, continue as focal points in the world's history down through events going on today.
Old and New Testament prophecies indicate the ancient city of Babylon will be rebuilt, becoming the center of Satan's empire. During the tribulation God will allow Satan to set up his kingdom with one world government and one world religion centered there. At this time the world will finally be united under one world leader who is Satan’s man. When it reaches its height of power and dominance midway through the seven year tribulation, judgment and destruction will come as God takes Satan's empire down. The wealth, power, and authority involved in the satanic system will come to nothing as God takes account of the sin of Satan and his followers.
In great contrast to Babylon's very short lived glory time, Jerusalem's will be eternal. God's city will become the center of His rule as Jesus Christ reigns from His throne.
The Lord will be faithful to His promises to Israel as during this time He brings the nation under conviction of their sin and repentance as they will turn to Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
