We are so blessed to be the recipients of God's vast and eternal love. Last week we left off our discussion from Eph. 3:17-18 with a look into 'the breadth and length and height and depth' of God's love for us (v18). Jesus also brings us this reminder:
29 'Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And {yet} not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 'But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 'Therefore do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matt 10:29-31
I read the other day that the average human head has some 140,000 hairs on it! (some a little less as time goes on I suppose). Yet, God knows of them all. This is exceptional knowledge to say the least. As I've mentioned several times in The Study: Love seeks knowledge of its object. This is true for God and for people.
Listen to the reassurance that Charles Spurgeon gives on this subject:
'He who counts the stars and calls them by their names, is in no danger of forgetting His own children. He knows your case as thoroughly as if you were the only creature He ever made, or the only saint He ever loved.' What tender, far-reaching, penetrating love God has for us. So great in fact, that He suffered and died a horrible death that you might know it. Be comforted in this and show Him your gratitude today.
