New Heart, New Spirit Ezekiel 19:1-14Ezekiel was a priest who was called to become a prophet ,watchman to the nation of Israel, preach God's Word to some very hardhearted people and warn them of the dangers of sin. Ezekiel's mission was to explain to God's people why they were defeated and why the Lord allowed them to go into captivity.Responsibility is one of the major themes of these four chapters. The Jewish exiles in Babylon were blaming their ancestors for the terrible judgment that had befallen them, so Ezekiel explained that God judges people individually for their own sins and not for somebody else's sins. The Jewish leaders King Jehoahaz, Jehoiachin and Zedekiah were responsible for the foolish decisions they had made. Israel leaders didn't keep the terms of the covenant, but the Lord did; and that's why He chastened them and scattered them.Jesus Christ, Israel's Messiah, came as the lion of the tribe of Judah Rev.5:5 and the true vine Jn 15:1, and the rightful heir to the throne of David Lk 1:68-69,and His own people rejected Him. Just as God strengthened Ezekiel through his trials, God will strengthen you.Choose the leadership of Jesus for your Life.
