There are a lot of things going on in our lives, and many times things aren’t going so well, or some things are, and some other things aren’t. It always seems to be this way; we never seem to be able to get ahead, or to get any rest. We wonder if we are doing something wrong, or are we missing something we need to be doing, or we are beset with any number of things that come creeping into our minds. Our minds, our schedules, and emergencies leave us busy “putting out fires” all the time. It seems we have no time to breathe, let alone get any really restful sleep. How can you rest with all your responsibilities? How do you have peace in the midst of such chaos, conflict, and trying circumstances?
We can see the answers here in this text, so let’s see what David did.
His Cry (vs.1)
His Counsel (vs.2-5)
His Comfort (vs.6-8)
Times of trouble are not times for indulgence, they are calls to holiness. You may be tempted to just run away, but when life has us on the run, it is the time to run, not from God, but to God. |
