As we approach the end of the theological portion of Paul's letter and prepare ourselves to begin the section on practical application, we pause for a brief reminder of a very important principle that I've mentioned from time-to-time in our lessons. Specifically, what I have in the past spent more time explaining in principle, I now want to give you in a single statement for your consideration. Here it is:
That which is to be practiced must first by made known; therefore, spiritual revelation and knowledge must precede practice.
Its important to acknowledge this order in the progression of your Christian walk. Think about it, if we were to begin to practice the 'what' of our faith before we understood and embraced the 'why,' we would be no different than the Pharisees. God wants our hearts before our practice. That's the order; that's the priority. Truth transforms hearts. The transformed heart generates the proper motives for our actions. That's the process God has in place for His children and it is the only one that will honor Him. In this lesson we will examine our unsearchable riches in Jesus Christ.
