In Joshua chapter 3 the Israelites are about to cross the Jordan River into the Promised land.
The River was in flood, normally the river would be about 100 feet across, but when it was in flood it widened to a width of about a mile. It became a river that was impossible to cross for Israel.
Each of us have our Jordan's but we can learn a lot from Israel's testimony .
Israel had to focus on God's abiding presence and His life giving promises in order to cross over.
Now we don’t need a tabernacle today or the Ark of the Covenant to have God’s presence with us.
Where does God Tabernacle today? In us... God dwells in every person that has trusted Jesus Christ as Saviour.
Jesus said that He would send the Holy Spirit for His people to indwell His people.
God has chosen to dwell in bodies of clay, bodies that have been broken by sin and bodies that have been released by the power of the Gospel and redeemed by the blood of the lamb…Jesus Christ.
Can I ask you, what is your Jordan today? What are the overwhelming odds that you face? What is it that makes you despair? What is it that is beyond your control? What is it that causes you to weep and worry?
