To be human is to inquire into the nature of the universe whether on the largest possible scale or the smallest possible scale. Scientists, philosophers, and theologians all deal with these questions and sometimes they even agree on the answers. But as we go about our everyday lives and pursue our interests, callings, and avocations, those questions and answers are not likely to be in the forefront of our thinking. Each of us goes from day to day doing what we want or must. Nevertheless, each one of us must answer some basic questions about life; it is inescapable. Today's text is full of questions and answers and they reflect those basic questions and answers we must all deal with. The Savior asked two who were tagging along as He walked, "What do you seek?" That is possibly the most open-ended question ever asked, yet it is one we all answer by our thoughts, words, and deeds. Their answer reveals something fundamental about them. Your answer reveals something fundamental about you. – Pastor Schlegel
