"I have so much sin I am struggling with, I'm not sure I could ever come to terms with it before God." How many Christians live under this weight! Do you read Paul's prayer, that you would experience God's POWER at work in you, and long for it like something that may never be a reality? Do you not realise that Paul is speaking about a POWER that is ALREADY at work in you? God is at work in you, changing you from being a person who is dominated by sin to a person who makes the life changing power of God in salvation appear beautiful! Do you realise God is already at work in you? Do you realise the greatness of this? Have you missed the drama and reality of what is actually taking place?
Don't complain that you don't have lightning bolts blazing from your fingertips. What Paul says is; stop looking at your own life and focus your attention on Jesus. It is in Jesus' death and resurrection that the POWER of God is most clearly displayed. It is the benefits of this powerful transaction that God is applying to His people. Don't look for power in yourself, look for the power of God in what Jesus has done to make you a child of God! Look what Jesus has done, and will do, to keep you a child of God! This is POWER!
