Dearly beloved congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ, here at Harvest Reformed Presbyterian Church we end every service with God's blessing. We call it the benediction, which the Latin word for "speaking well." Why do we end with a benediction? Because the apostles end many of their letters with benedictions, in which they put God's name and God's blessing on God's people. Since we are the people of God gathered together in His name to worship Him, it is only right and proper that we receive His blessing. He calls us into His presence because He wants to bless us! So do you want a blessing? Come to church. Church is a blessing in its own right, of course — but the premier and primary blessing comes from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. They are the source of every blessing in the Christian life, and the only proper response to their blessing is to love them in return.
