Forgiven but Indebted 1 Cor. 6:9-20 When we look at what we were before Jesus saved us, we need to just fall on our faces and say, "Thank God, I am forgiven." What does it mean to be washed, and sanctified and justified? It simply means that we have been washed in the blood of Jesus; we have been sanctified or set apart for Him, and we have been justified or declared righteous. To be justified and cleansed in the sight of God is the greatest gift man can have. On the other hand, to live daily with the weight of unforgiven sin is unbearable. We are reminded that our body no longer belongs to us, rather it is the purchased possession of the Lord. When we are tempted to do the wrong thing, let's take a minute to reflect on the cross. Let's be reminded that Jesus bought and paid for us--He paid the ultimate price--His life's blood. Looking at the cross will distract us from doing the wrong thing. It will point us in the right way--His way.
