After God dealt with Moses' first resistance to obedience where he said but what if the elders of Israel won't believe me, Moses tried again to get out of the task that God had assigned to him. He claimed that he was not eloquent. There was a point in time according to Acts where he was, but maybe by this point he had been by himself long enough, he no longer had the skill of mighty words. God's responded by declaring as Creator, He is the one who made his mouth and would give him words. Moses responded "Please send by the hand of whomever You may send," either meaning send somebody else or I'll go, I have no choice. God's anger was aroused by Moses' response and He told him that Aaron was already on the way and he would be Moses' spokesman. As we see Moses' resistance to God's will, we should ask ourselves "How often do I resist God's will not doing what I know God wants me to do?" We should also recognize that there are times when we get what we asked from God, but it was not because of God blessing us, but because it is God's means to chasten us.
