We have understood that Adam was created first, and now here in verse 18 of chapter 2 we see that the Lord God saw that there was something that was not good in relation to Adam. It was not good that man should be alone, and so He says that He will make him a helper comparable to him. These are important things for us to take notice of. It is not good that man should be alone. He has a need for a certain kind of helper. He has the need for a helper who, as it says here, who would be "comparable to him".
