Jesus Christ is the most polarizing figure in human history, and no matter how hard the world tries, every year, we are confronted afresh with his reality. His name is on the lips of everyone who says "Merry Christmas" or sings Silent Night or dozens of other carols. We can say "happy holidays" all we want but "holiday" means "holy-day" and it's a holy day because Luke 1:35 says the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. Even the most militant atheists who pay for billboards that mock the birth of Christ as a fairytale are spending money to wage a campaign against the Christ they just can't escape. So friends on this Christmas morning, we can either receive him or reject him, but we cannot ignore him. Emperors, kings, and presidents have all stumbled over him. Atheists try to deny him. The cults try to distort him, false religions try to replace him with their own deity, but every 25th of December the world is confronted by him all over again.
