We discuss the eschatological viewpoint commonly referred to as preterism. It is easy to become lost in the plethora of terms that evade easy remembrance; however, I show that these various viewpoints, but one, are really just variations of Gnosticism. They are designed to confuse and keep the immature at bay while ensnaring those unwary enough to stumble into their trappings.

Great Sermon! There is certainly room for differences of opinion on this subject since the Bible makes the vague reference you quoted. I'll be happy to be with Him wherever. The understanding that we will live in Heaven in eternity future though is erroneous as the Bible clearly teaches we will live on a new earth with pilgrimage to the New Jerusalem regularly. What will we be doing? Bible does not mention anything specific which means we could not understand it in our present physical context. Thanks for your comment.

From this message and some previous messages in the series I have a better understanding about the physical aspect of our resurrected bodies and everlasting life on earth after the Lord's return, but find it hard not to think of our being in heaven if we die before His return. Thinking of this in light of the Lord's physical ascension into heaven (Acts 1:9-11), Stephen seeing Him in heaven (Acts 7:55-56), and Paul saying that to be at home in the body is to be absent from the Lord/to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:6-8).
