King Herod was an evil man. Is there anything that we can learn from him? Yes, though we would not order the slaughter of little children, in his heart Herod did not want to bow down and worship another King. Herod knew that God had promised a real King to deliver the Jews. Herod was not a person who did not believe the Bible, he knew the Bible is true and so does Satan. Instead of thanking God for fulfilling His promise in sending the Messiah, Herod set out to kill Him. Herod was crazy, and sin makes us do crazy things as well. We must realize that there is a God and we are not Him. The only way we can accomplish a miracle is if God tells us we can. King Herod knew the truth and thought he could change it by getting rid of Jesus. Herod wanted to be the boss just like all of us without Christ. Instead of behaving like Herod, we should cry out to God and have Him rule our lives. We are not ready to live until we are ready to die. Once we are ready to die, then we are ready to live.
