I. The 4 Cups of the Passover
1. Thanksgiving/Sanctification (Exo. 6:6a)
"Blessed be thou, Lord our God, King of the universe, who hast created the fruit of the vine."
And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks … I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. (vv. 17-18)
This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. (v. 20) The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ?—1 Cor. 10:16
4. The Kingdom/Acceptance (Exo. 6:7-8; Psa. 118)
I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (vv. 29-30)
II. 4 Cups Fulfilled in Christ
1. I will bring—(Jn. 10:4,16; 1 Pet. 3:18; Heb. 2:10)
