Do we publically pray in the name of Jesus? Is his name to us "a name above every name?" (Philippians 2:9-10)
The apostles magnified the name of Jesus in all they did. The Jewish leaders did not what them to stop preaching, but "commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus." (Acts 4:18) It was the name of Jesus that was so offensive to them.
Let us not have Christless prayers and preaching. A belief in God is not offensive to many people, but a belief that "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) is.
May we be kept from going along with the idea that there are many ways to heaven, and insist there is only one way.
This message is to strengthen believers to be unashamed of the name of Jesus. To show from the scriptures how important it is to do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Colossians 3:17)
